Yodel apologises for parcel thrown onto customer's roof

Delivery company Yodel has apologised after one of its drivers left a parcel for a customer – on their roof. The “overly enthusiastic” delivery man aimed to throw the item through an open window when he discovered the customer was out in Dartford, Kent.
But he misjudged his attempt, and the parcel ended up lodged on the roof.
A misspelt delivery note was then left for the customer, saying: “Sorry top off of your roof.”
Yodel, the parcel delivery service for some of the UK’s biggest retailers, apologised for the “very embarrassing” incident and sent the customer a bouquet of flowers.
The delivery driver returned to the house with some ladders in his own time to retrieve the parcel and apologised to the customer, Yodel said.
A Yodel spokesman said: “We’ve reminded all our drivers that while it is important to go the extra mile to get people their deliveries, parcels should never be thrown.”
