Scheduling meetings takes three or more modes of contact say seven in ten sales execs

New research from sales CRM platform Pipedrive reveals 68% of sales executives feel scheduling meetings is a hassle and too complicated, with a huge 70% admitting that it frequently takes three or more modes of communication before a meeting is secured.
In fact, the survey, carried out with 266 salespeople, revealed that only one quarter (27%) of meetings are scheduled with one touch and one in five (22%) respondents claim it often takes three or more days to nail down a date and time to meet.
The survey indicated the critical importance of scheduling meetings as a sales activity – 63% of respondents organise meetings on a daily basis – and highlighted the most common reasons why salespeople feel the process is complicated, citing ‘excessive back-and-forth communication with an invitee’ and when ‘invitees need to reschedule’, underlining that this friction can be enough to cost a deal.
