Thought leadership

The specialised service has been formally developed following the success of recent GWR corporate events. Client solutions are created using GWR’s in-house expertise to design bespoke team building experiences that convey a company’s key message in an authentic and exciting manner.

The key difference between this offering and other team building alternatives is that staff are provided with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in an official, achievable, record-breaking attempt rather than the more commonly used role play based scenarios. Various formats for the new GWR Employee Engagement service were trialled last year with tremendous success by businesses including P&G, Domestic and General and Airbus.

The GWR Employee Engagement bespoke package includes a dedicated creative event management team who research, devise and execute a record-breaking event that is aligned with what the company wishes to communicate to employees. The package is offered as a complete solution from brief to execution.

Earlier this month, the United Biscuits UK Sales team was the first to benefit from the new product and managed to topple 5,381 books, which they had arranged in a formation spelling ‘UBelieve’, achieving the Guinness World Records title for Most books toppled in a domino fashion

Mark Winter, Sales Director at United Biscuits UK & Ireland, commented: “At United Biscuits we take great pride in our team spirit and the day provided an opportunity to strengthen this through a bespoke challenge, tailored to our focus on achieving even bigger and better things within the UK sales team this year. To have broken the world record is a fantastic achievement for the team, and was a fun way to kick-off the year whilst setting our stall out for a successful 2015.”

In devising the challenge for the United Biscuits UK sales team; the GWR Creative team incorporated the core objectives of energising and motivating the team in order to improve on the previous year’s fantastic results and to ‘believe’ in achieving even better results in 2015.  GWR devised a playful presentation, focused training and a fitting challenge that would tap into these core values and excite and energise the Sales team.

Guinness World Records, Senior Project Manager, Alan Pixley said ‘The United Biscuits UK Sales team demonstrated patience, courage and dedication throughout the entire event. Practising first as individuals, then working in small groups to finally come together as one whole team to achieve their world record, this was an example of team work at its world record-breaking best!!’
