The Future of People & Culture Development? A Short, Sharp Hit of Theatre...

2 minute read

Most personal and organisational development struggles with one key challenge: engagement. No matter how well-crafted a slide deck or case study may be, it rarely delivers a truly visceral, human experience that powers up a desire to do things differently and keep doing them differently.

That’s why short-form immersive theatre is a game-changer for learning, development, and culture change. Ten-minute plays and real-world encounters do what no PowerPoint ever can - challenge, inspire, and emotionally connect people to new perspectives and behaviours.

We’ve seen this firsthand:

🎭 Transforming Housing Association Culture

At a major housing conference, we staged a tenant encounter featuring a Cameroonian refugee telling repair workers:
"You come into my house like soldiers. In my country we don't like soldiers. And I can't understand you - you talk too fast."
She didn’t just need her heater fixed - she needed someone to explain why her cheap bulbs caused her light failures and why drying clothes on the heater was tripping the safety switch.
"It’s hard to describe on paper just how powerful these interactions were." – Managing Director

⚽ Shaping Customer Experience in Premier League Football

For a top football club, actors used real fans’ recorded opinions to create in-person experiences for club leaders and staff - unfiltered, direct, and impossible to ignore. This wasn't just customer feedback; it gave the club a live emotional connection to what truly mattered. This development programme won three National Training Journal Gold awards and the club went on to win multiple awards for fan & customer experience.

🛍️ Holding Retail Leaders Accountable to Their Values

For one of the UK’s biggest retailers, 2,000 leaders were confronted with real verbatim stories of broken trust - performed in intimate, up-close encounters. The impact? A fundamental shift in how they understood their role in living the values.

Why This Matters Now

If you want to create a leadership, culture, or learning experience that actually works - you need something real, raw, and unforgettable.
That’s why we’re bringing 16 powerful theatrical shorts to Pleasance London this March in The Big Bite-Size Show - a unique chance to experience theatre that challenges, inspires, and entertains.

In two menus, each with eight shorts to talk about over a coffee and/or drink.

Menu One - 5th-8th March at 3pm and 7.30pm
Menu Two - 12th-15th March at 3pm, 7.30pm and 11am on Sat 15th.

🔥 Bring your team, grab a table, and see why this kind of theatre can play fundamental role in modern learning and development.
