Astrid Sundberg, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Oda
With this year’s Employee Wellbeing Conference just a few days away, we’ve decided to sit down with some of our world class industry speakers for a “Speaker in the Spotlight” interview to hear more about their role, responsibilities and what they are most looking forward to about the event. Today we are joined by Astrid Sundberg, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Oda…
1. Can you provide us with an insight into a ‘day in the life’ of your role?
I am 1 month into my new role at Oda who are the largest online grocery retailer in Norway. Oda are in the middle of an exponential scale up with expansion into Finland and Germany. My principal responsibility will be working together with the Sustainability team and the People + Talent team to cultivate a Diversity + Inclusion initiative underpinned by wellness strategies which focus on the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our people.
2. How has Covid affected your employee engagement strategies?
The main challenge has been physical absence from one another which can impact amongst other things communication and connection. It’s been most challenging when it comes to the onboarding of employees remotely, forging meaningful employee orientation experiences that enable new people to feel a part of the company.
3. What do you think the future will look like for employee wellbeing?
I think that all companies who don’t yet have a dedicated wellbeing programme will be looking to implement one and those that do will be looking to continuously improve on what they have as we move towards a new era of compassionate leadership. Creating a purpose for employees and connecting employees to meaningful work will be an important objective for employers like Oda going forward.
4. What are you most looking forward to about the event?
The line up for this event is phenomenal. Looking forward to listening in to illuminating discussions and storytelling exchange is always the best part of an event like this. Connecting with people who are passionate about the importance of wellbeing at work and hearing from speakers in all sorts of different industries who can share their vulnerabilities and solutions is going to be really insightful for attendees.
Astrid will be taking part in the live panel discussion focusing on What the Future of Wellbeing will look like in a Hybrid Workplace on Thursday 8th July at 3pm – you can register your FREE ticket to the event and catch Astrid’s discussion live here.
