Why organisations ignore employee engagement at their peril

By Jo Moffatt
As Partnerships and Strategy Director for Engage for Success, I opened day one of Engage Employee’s two-day flagship Internal Communications conference in September this year.
My opening speech presented the case for why investing in employee engagement matters more than ever before. All the data – record vacancy levels of 1 million in the UK and indications that maybe forty percent of employees are planning to change jobs in the next 12 months, for example, suggests that organisations ignore employee engagement and the employee experience at their peril.
Watch my opening here as she reminds us of the all-important four enablers of engagement and hear her suggestions for what might even be considered the fifth.
