Suba qualified as a doctor from the University of Glasgow and trained as a surgeon, working in various NHS and private hospitals in London and Cambridgeshire. Her areas of clinical research include value-based healthcare, patient reported outcomes and subjective wellbeing. She is on a mission to make healthcare as inclusive and accessible as possible.
She joined Aviva in 2015 with the remit to provide clinical insight in every aspect of the insurance value chain- from assessing scientific evidence when funding new healthcare treatments, identifying and contracting with high quality healthcare providers, to co-designing innovative healthcare propositions that address unmet clinical and customer needs.
She is Aviva’s Clinical Lead and Board observer at Healthcare Purchasing Alliance, a 50/50 joint venture between Aviva and Vitality. She is also a member and workstream lead of the Patient Safety Working Group at the Association of British Insurers. She is a Non-Executive Director at Healthwatch Hampshire and has been appointed a Non-Executive Director at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest providers of community health, specialist mental health and learning disability services in the UK, where she is also the Wellbeing Guardian.
