Leading the team, responsible for Workforce Analytics we support the industry with Strategic Workforce Planning amongst other things. Forecasting the future skills needs, numbers and workforce requirements for the rail industry is key in the current climate as changing trends and the impact of technological developments mean different skill sets are required. This will ultimately lead to productivity improvements.
Within the role, I also support the development and am responsible for the maintenance of the Skills Intelligence Model (SIM), an analytical model to enable analysis of today’s workforce, whilst forecasting the future skill level requirements for the industry. As the model has continued to develop, a wider industry picture is being formed with forecasting being finely tuned to job role level, subsequently allowing specific gaps to be identified.
Data analysis and interpretation are my strengths, developed through my career and latterly, finely-tuned in a variety of senior posts in school based Education. I am able to convert data from source into meaningful and usable information. This is particularly important where this information is used to project the next milestone or target and for forecasting future demands.
